Epic Fail

Queensland was a bust.

I did attempt to be good, but alas . . .

Did I mention that my sister-in-law is Spanish? That means that olive oil (and lots of it) is the main ingredient of any and all cooking. What does this mean to me?

Well, my sister-in-law lives in Brisbane, which was great when I could catch up with her, my brother and niece and nephew, but not so great that I didn't have a choice in food with some serious offence caused.

What could I say? No, I can't have dinner wih you guys? I probably could have, but not with out significant offencs taken. I don't want to be the cause of any friction in the family. It's too easy to create anyway.

So I thought, I'd do what I could for the week and get back on track when I get home and back to my routine. So now I'm back and the routine is going to get back into place.

I also did some workouts while away, which was awesome! I have put on a small amount of weight this week, not alot. And you know what? It's totally fixable. That small amount (0.6kg) and more will be gone by then nd of next week! It has to be, there are only 6 weeks left!

Here we go . . .

Right now my life is feeling like a roller coaster! There's just no time to take a breath and catch up before the next dip!

This last weekend was huge! Asides from farewells, and working, there was birthday parties and family commitments! In hind sight, I am very pleased the weekend was so very busy. I haven't had time to realise that my bestie is not around anymore.

So it's Monday, already! The start of a massive weekend. I have today to get through four days of work, before flying out tonight for work and spending the next few days in the sunshine state! It sounds great, sunshine state. I very much doubt that I am going to see much of the hours with daylight! It's going to be a crazy few days!

I have my gym clothes packed, ready for some big gym sessions. I do have a pretty major concern, I don't know what food I am going to have access to! I will have to wear my will power hat!

Super Saturday

 It was definitely a Super Saturday!

Yes! I completed the SSS! But, I did one of the online videos and my flatmate normally sleeps, like all day (I kid you not - he stays in his bed all day! I think I"m just jealous and would love to have a pajama day. Clearly there is no rest for the wicked) but clearly this Saturday was different. I stopped and started a few times, but eventually he headed off to the gym (maybe I am inspiring him - this is new) and I could finish SSS! 454 calories!

After finally completing the SSS, I pretty much got ready to head into town for work at the SFS. The Waratahs vs The British Irish Lions. Apparently the Tahs got slammed! Where I was, there wasn't really anything to see, unfortunately. I have also never been so cold or tired on a shift of work! F-ing Freezing is the understatement of the decade and I was wearing thermals!

I don't think I have ever been so pleased for a shift of work to finish! On a high note, I walked 16.1km today!

Only one more day of this crazy weekend left, a crazy week and then, hopefully, a quiet catch up weekend - unless more work comes up! At this stage I am really hoping it doesn't, 'cos I just can't say no to more work!

Friday Farewell

My best and longest friend is going overseas on Sunday and last night was her farewell! I still can't believe that the big date has already come around! This trip has been in the works for roughly 18 months. That time has come and gone SO quickly!

So much has happened within that time as well! Her indefinite solo trip has turned into a three month solo trip and the a dual indefinite trip. She, Kay, is now also getting married in September in Portugal!

How much incentive do I need for this 12wbt?! Here's another one! As the maid of honour, I want to look smoking hot in those wedding photos! I may have fallen off the wagon a little, but you know what? I still have some weeks left and so far I am past the craziest weeks! Hopefully a little calmness will come my way! Fingers crossed!

I was super good at the farewell, which was held at the Bavarian Bier Cafe, famous for it's tasty German food, and I only had one glass of wine!

Here I come track, time to get back on you! I want to see the last of you JB!

In Progress

Just a quick update to yesterday! 

  • Top up shop - done. I am still of the mind that I never want to fillet a fish again. I have also been told by friends that if I go to an actual fish shop,  they fillet it for you! Now I just need to find a fish shop that I can use that is open around all my crazy hours!
  • Get as much study done as possible- hmm. Well. I don't want to make excuses . . . let's just say that this is underway. It is happening, just not at the rate of knots that I would like!
Tomorrow is going to be a crazy busy day and night! I'm already looking forward to this week being done and dusted!

. . . is paved with good intentions!

If that is true about the road to hell, well then I am well on my way after this last week.

After working two jobs, one full time and one of an evening over the previous weekend and then at the State of Origin, I was TIRED! Exhausted and completely over the week. Throw in some study, a Hen's Party and preparing for the coming week flew out the window. I meant to get all my cooking done. I meant to have my clothes laid out for the gym and work, I meant to . . .

It's all well and good to mean to. I stuffed up. And everything went out the window - all because I was too tired.

Which brings me back to the excuses that Michelle got us to write down before the round started. So here I am again, going over my excuses, only this time I am updating and tweaking them because  I have another even crazier week ahead of me and no time to rest this weekend between farewell parties, working at the Union and birthday parties.
So, for the rest of this week:

  • I need to do a top up shop, which I am going to do on my lunch break today. Filleting a fish is not a skill that I want to perfect nor to I feel the need to ever do that again. But now I am short of flathead.
  • Wednesday (tomorrow) I have to have as much study done as possible - there won't be much time over the weekend, if there is any.
  • I have to have all my plans for next week (exercise and food) printed on Thursday - because I'm out of the office on Friday and won't have any time to think about it after Thursday night.
  • Thursday I have to have the following week's food prepped as much as I can, there won't be any time over the weekend. 
  • Friday - must not eat or drink beyond my calories at my best friend's farewell. Must also do an extra session of exercise today so I can have a cider or two.
  • Saturday - must do the SSS. I missed it last week, so I must do extra today.
  • Sunday - it might be 'rest' day today - but with all the fun this weekend, must do extra exercise, perhaps an extra SSS this week?
How's that for trying to prevent excuses? 
Oh, and the other thing I have to focus on this week - the weekly challenge. I have to try and get to bed early every night this week. I'll do my best, but I simply need another day in the week to get everything done!
